Dad—

It’s not lost on me that there are fathers out there that had to play the role of both mom and dad. This is for my dad who, when my mom was sick, stepped in to work his more than full time job, picked me up from school, cooked, and taught me how to have integrity and discipline. For the times you had to play both parents for our family: I honor you, I look up to you & I have reverence for you. You’re the epitome of grace, selflessness, and turning the other cheek. You’ve given me such a beautiful image of what a truly good father looks like. A lot of what’s good about me came from learning from you.
In your retirement years, you’ve been traveling to Minya, a village a little journey away from our family home in Cairo. You care for the orphans and feed the widows.
This Mother’s Day, a portion of the profits from this selection will go toward my dad’s efforts to continue caring for people in the village of Minya. It’s not formal, not structured through any organization, but a true grassroots expression of showing up for others. It’s my dad’s hands and feet directly on the ground. He sits with people, he listens to their stories, prays with them, and offers tangible help as needed.

May this arrangement honor you dad, and honor the work you do in Minya. May it feed the forgotten members of society. May it bless the mothers that receive this arrangement, knowing that it directly helps women and children in need.
